GH Property Management: March 2020. This month we’re talking about our newest IRPM qualified property manager, the importance of sleep, and how remote-working technology, will become the key to delivering our services!!!
IRPM Qualified Property Manager, Sleep Awareness and How Technology Saves the Day!
Hi, and welcome back to the GH Blog. To start off; we hope you are safe and well. I’m sure it’s been just as interesting for you as it has been for us, adjusting to the new ways of living and working since the lockdown restrictions were brought upon us, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.
We’re under no illusion; that these will be challenging times for us all, as we work together as a nation to “Stay at Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives”.
So; what’s been going on at GH?
Following the hectic end to 2019 and start to 2020, Sleep Awareness Month was conveniently well timed in March. https://www.sleepfoundation.org/press-release/sleep-awareness-week-2020.
We celebrated by having breakfast at the barn!!! And on World Sleep Day we launched the GH “Lucky Lay-In”.
Once a month; one lucky team member – picked from a hat at random, gets to start work at 11am on the 1st Friday of the month!!!
Rachel, was our first ‘Lucky Lay-in’ Winner
and everyone is looking forward to next months’ all-staff meeting for their chance to win!! – Who doesn’t love the gift of extra time?
As the country looked towards a strategy for COVID-19, GH set to prepare for ‘changing times’. Technology that we had been beginning to implement in our business, would suddenly be our preferred option, and the quick roll-out of Microsoft Teams ensured we were able to plan ahead and be well prepared for the inevitable ‘lockdown’, we had seen in other countries. Our first COVID-19 Statement was released as the Government laid out its plan for self-isolation and social distancing. And we; like so many others, entered into the now, new normal; reducing the office to a skeleton staff rota and implementing the government guidelines regarding hand-washing and then social-distancing.
With commitment and determination, and by implementing our business continuity plan for remote working and social distancing, we kept the wheels turning. Confident in our service delivery, in our operation and in our dedication to our clients; our staff worked hard to adapt-and-overcome, to ensure we were simultaneously committed to both our clients, and to the COVID-19 response. And with all that going on, we still had some big things to shout about…………..
We said a BIG Congratulations to Lenka Day, who passed her foundation IRPM Exam – Well done Lenka. GH are extremely proud to have you as one of our IRPM qualified property manager professionals. Good luck with your next exams!
We introduced Molly Wheeler as the newest member of the GH team. Molly joins the team as an Assistant Property Manager, and will soon be another of our IRPM qualified property manager professionals – Welcome Molly
The GH Book club is up and running! Our first read is The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. No spoilers please! We are looking forward to curling up in a snug spot with this and enjoying our down time.
The GH Quiz – We started the ‘Virtual Quiz’. At the end of the first week of our whole team social distancing and working from home, what better way to bring us together than through a pub quiz (minus the pub!!). So we hosted our first Friday Quiz on Microsoft Teams and it was a great success! We shared our format, and what we did on LinkedIn:
Welcome to the GH Friday Pub Quiz!! Here are the rules: This weeks’ Quiz will be 20 general knowledge questions of all levels. The Quiz Master will ask the questions on the meeting ‘chat room’ Players have 15 seconds to give their answers in the chat room by replying to the question before – “Time’s Up!!” is announced. When the 15 seconds have elapsed; the questions will be closed. And the answers will be revealed. Only answers given within the time will be counted. Points will be awarded accordingly for correct answers. Wrong answers and no answers will be marked as 0. Points will be totaled at the end of the quiz. Winners will be announced on Social Media The answers aren’t hidden so ‘copying’ is totally within the rules – if you can get the answer in, within the 15 seconds!!!
